Day 16
Depending where you are in the world and who you work for, will determine what your day count. For me and my family in Gwinnett, we are on day 16. As of Saturday, Gwinnett County is under a “stay-at-home” order until April 13th. Basically officials has limited all activity to essential business… Law enforcement, medical, grocery, restaurants that provide curbside, drive thru, and delivery services. Along with social workers, sanitation, and whatever else is considered essential This order lost me at fast food joints. Its hard to drive the severity of the situation when you can stop by Micky D’s.
This is why I think there is a wide range of reaction to this pandemic. If you’re like me, reading the morning CDC updates, suffer through the daily White House briefings, and pay attention to the stock market, I fall into the COVD-19. If you are getting all your information from social media and stay glued to CNN/MSNBC/FOX News, but still not convinced that things are as serious, you fall into the Corona category. Then there are the Rona people. They are in denial, they don’t seem to care because they think because they are young and they don’t care about older neighbors or family members, they go parties and lick toilets, and post insensitive memes online.
I am trying hard not to be judgmental, because I might be borderline obsessed with tracking the news, but there has to be a happy medium. Basic decency, respect there are real people suffering from this virus, losing family members and working long hours providing care for those heavily impacted. So salute to the doctors, nurses, LPNs, house keepers, lab techs, and cafeteria staff at our hospitals. And prayers to all the thousands of family members who can not sit bedside to their love ones suffering with the virus.
