Controlling the Narrative

Originally I was going to spend way too much time talking about the Wendy Williams movie, when I heard that news series New York Times Presents did a story on Britney Spears. Then all of sudden everyone was talking about Britney. Intrigued with the idea of framing the narrative, I checked out the story.

Everything Inauguration Day

Emotionally, my day started with me consuming meme after meme of Trump reign being over, but when Harris was sworn in, I couldn’t help but be moved to tears. Knowing this woman wasn’t just for looks, Harris has done the work. She has earned that spot and I have no doubts that she will beContinue reading “Everything Inauguration Day”

Welcome To Dope Conversations Podcast

This week we covered current events. We added our 2 cents on the events that took place on January 6th at The Capitol. Charlie then expanded on some of her tips she wrote about in her post Starting The New Year with a Legacy Wealth Building Budget. We also introduce ourselves and end the podcast with our goals for the following week.

Welcoming 2021

First Deliberately Dope is welcoming a new member, my sister Charlie! Her addition is so organic. I don’t recall when, but sometime last year my sister was included in my morning phone calls with Latrice. Our conversations would cover everything from what is going on in our personal lives to hot topics. Charlie will cover two her passions – legacy and finical security. Secondly we are adding a podcast! “Saturday Morning Coffee is Dope”, just like our weekly blogs, we will be discussing hot topics and picking one of our post from the week and doing a deep dive. Needless to say, I am excited.

One thing everyone has or had is a mother, so Mother’s Day is one of those holidays that everyone loves to celebrate.   Even when your mother has passed, it can be sad but still a celebration to the woman who gave you life. What about when you are estranged from your mother?  Mother’s Day isContinue reading “Sad Mother’s Day”

How are YOU doing?

As we enter into week forever of the pandemic, I want to ask “How are you doing?”. For me I miss my routine.  Early morning workout, getting the kids off to school, work, cooking dinner and relaxing with either a book or television in the evening.  In other words, I missed being busy!  But doContinue reading “How are YOU doing?”
